Wanting more than just the weekly blip…
Trauma often manifests as a 24/7 deal that weekly therapy can often only touch at the surface, if at all. Many times, just when a client gets comfortable enough to share candidly, the hour is up, and another seven days pass before reconvening. Trauma needs attention, advanced resourcing, and skilling.
Grief can surface as a relentless rollercoaster of emotion that has some days feeling fine and others… well, the acronym of that (F*cked up, Insecure, Neurotic, and Emotionally unavailable). Grief needs expression and the ability to sit and ride with the waves.
Coaching for expanded realities and potentials often involves clients hitting up against powerful self-confidence blockages and self-sabotage cycles, requiring a layered, bit-by-bit approach. Coaching needs an integrated, un-blocking process to allow big changes in short amounts of time.
Self-discovery post-divorce or any other life transition involves a discovery process that doesn’t easily fit into the blur of daily, modern life. Diving deep into issues provides the space for issues to surface and get addressed.
An immersive experience…
Individual intensives allow the focus to remain on your healing for an extended time (2 days). As issues surface, we can go to the natural flow of the brain structure to systematically unblock at the root structure where blocks are and how they occur.
This process is not for the faint of heart; it beckons motivated, focused individuals who are at a place where they are in enough discomfort that they are ready and willing to take their healing to the next level. The pain/discomfort needs more than 53 minutes spaced out over weeks.
Imagine two connected individuals caught up in sharing their lives, joys, deepest hidden pain, and experiences. Sharing themselves with comfort and wholly losing track of the passage of time.
Now imagine that tapped in, turned on, felt sense combined with the assurance and internal resting that one of the individuals has a skillset that can facilitate some resolution for the other individual. That there will be a place to land here. That the sharing (in this context, from the identified client) will find some level of internal resolution and grounding. While there may not be any “riding off into the sunset happily ever after,” – there will be some marked movement forward. Inroads will have been created.
Get ready for a deep dive!
Intensives let you do the work that’s sorely needed during a healing journey – the kind of work that a standard 53-minute therapy hour doesn’t allow – that few clinicians are willing to do.
Putting down your defense mechanisms…
Building trust with a clinician takes time. Weeks in, and you may still not know if you can really result in this person. After the 3-5 initial, traditional individual therapy sessions, opting for an individual intensive creates a financial wager and internal commitment of “What if.” “What if I trusted this clinician?” “What kind of healing work am I capable of?”
Deconstructing your coping strategies…
Coping strategies can be thought of as something like band-aids. Sometimes, the scars and wounds on our bodies are such that a band-aid is all you may need. Other times, a band-aid could be a very poor substitute for healing.
Sometimes, the wounding is such that you may need to see a doctor or specialist and get it checked out. Sometimes, you may need healing on the level of surgery or extended physical therapy, and no amount of band-aids would or could ever fix the issue. Let’s deconstruct the band-aids of your mental health where band-aids aren’t appropriate or even… desired.
Examining the narratives behind your neurons…
The brain feeds on stories. We create meaning with our lives through the stories we tell ourselves, the stories our brain creates about our lives. Often, examination of these stories can reveal some rationally implausible plot lines and character frames that have holes or biases without any discernible “proof” of validity. And yet, we base the movie of our lives on such sh*tty, unedited cuts. Let’s take some time to examine these plot lines and rework the stories to create rationally based, researched, and intentional frames.
Activating your self-awareness…
You are more than just a “talking head” and deserve to be treated as such. Creating insights and connections with the brain is wonderful, however incomplete. Research validates that negative emotions live in the very cells of our being – in our bodies.
Our issues, my friend, are quite literally IN OUR TISSUES. Therefore, we can ameliorate our brains with wonderful connections and insights and reworkings of all those lovely narrative storylines and STILL not touch the places where the issues lie, fundamentally. Enter: Navigating from a body perspective. This could look like a variety of modalities, everything from learning basic Kundalini yoga exercises, shifting pathways through the neuroscience of dance fitness modalities such as Nia, resourcing with the ever-available tapping offered in Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), clearing blocks through Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) or a variety of other offerings, available depending on your personal preferences and identified goals.
We shift healing multidimensionally to include body and spiritual practices as desired or indicated.
The when and where…
After 3-5 individual sessions, you’ll have the option to do an individual intensive.
These 2-day sessions take place over a mutually agreed upon weekend. We’ll meet in person from 9am to 4pm on Friday and Saturday.
It’ll take place in a comfortable, lodge-style setting (location to be disclosed at booking). To fully integrate the experience and enjoy all its benefits, you’ll need to stay onsite for the weekend.
See Integration Weeks for more information on the value of integration.
Think of this like a thorough spring cleaning… for your soul!
Do you find yourself resonating on some level?
Call me at (402) 937-0027 or email me at lauren@laurenpick.com. I’m serious. I would be more than happy to deliberate on this further on a 15- to 20-minute complimentary discovery call, answering all questions concerning this process.
What I’m doing here is filling a gap in the healing industry. I want to create shifts only previously reserved for he-said-she-said-unadvertised referrals (which was my first personal introduction to the concept of a mental health intensive). Or an intensive option that comes with a $10,000+ price tag (also taken from firsthand experience).
I want healing for you on a visceral, fundamental level. Let’s step in.
